Use: Butyl Glycolate is used chiefly as a paint additive to improve flow properties, for example in nitrocellulose lacquers, in which it also imparts gloss; and in metallic lacquers. It is used as a blush preventive in cellulose acetate paints; as a wrinkle preventive in alkyd paints; in inks; and in emulsion polymers.
